Canadian Adam Hadwin shot a third-round 67 and will go into Sunday’s final round ready for his first PGA TOUR victory….He is making his 78th start on the PGA TOUR and would be the 14th Canadian to win a TOUR event. Seven international-born players have won the Valspar. … Half of the previous 16 54-hole leaders/co-leaders have gone on to win the Valspar.  Is he ready?


Former top-ranked amateur Patrick Cantlay shot the best round of the day in the swirling winds at the Copperhead Course, a 5-under 66, to get to 10 under. He is in second alone, four back, with Jim Herman (71) in solo third at 9 under. Henrik Stenson, the highest ranked player in the field (6), hit just seven greens in regulation and signed for his second straight 71. At 7 under, he’s seven strokes off the lead. … Defending champion Charl Schwartzel made one of the biggest moves of the day with a 67 to get to 6 under… remember he came from five back last year on the final day to win in a playoff against Bill Haas…. …
